Misson Statement
The Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers & Cosmetologists was created to protect the health and safety of the general public, to protect the public against misrepresentation, deceit, or fraud in the practice or teaching of beauty culture, to set standards for the operation of the schools and salons, and to protect the students under the provisions of this chapters.

Board meetings are held at the Board Office and are open to licensees and the general public. All meetings begin at 9:00 a.m. (EST)

Examination Dates |

Applicants will be scheduled for state board examinations as their applications are received in the KBHC office.
All applications for any month must be in the office ten (10) working days prior to the beginning examination date, exclusive of Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. The applicant will receive notification from the office of the board of the date and time of their examination.
Instructor examinations are scheduled during the months that board meetings are not held. Examination dates are subject to change at the Board’s discretion.
